Hand Stripping
Starting from £60
Hand stripping is a specialist service and can only be achieved on certain breeds, mainly terriers and some gundogs.
The hand stripping process involves removing the wirey top layer of coat to leave the soft undercoat
As this is such a specialised process and needs to be carried out by trained professionals it is slightly more expensive.
This service includes everything in the full groom package.

We recommend you have your dog regularly treated to ensure their coats do not become matted. Matted fur can cause many terrible skin conditions, including:
• Severe Itching
• Discolouration & Staining of Fur
• Hot Spots & Sores
• Skin Rash Flea infestations
• Fungal and bacterial Infections
• Yeast Infections
• Urine and Faeces Scalding
• Moist Eczema
• Eye & Ear Infections
• Mites and Lice Maggot Infestations
In the event of matting, please be aware that there may be an additional Extra Care Fee of £10 for every extra 30 minutes spent dematting. This allows me the time to work through a dog’s coat, reducing discomfort during the de-matting process. In more severe cases of matting we will recommend that a dog’s coat be completely trimmed to avoid any unnecessary pain or trauma.
Of course, regular grooming will prevent any issues. So whether you bring your furry friend along to Star Paws Dog Grooming or do it yourself at home, be sure to take the time to keep on top of their fur before it becomes a problem.

🦷 Emmi Pet NEO Ultrasonic Teeth Cleaning 🦷
We’re really excited to offer Emmi Pet NEO ultrasonic teeth cleaning through Star Paws.
We’ve invested in the newer Emmi Pet NEO system rather than the older PRO model, giving us multiple cleaning modes and a more advanced ultrasonic system.
It works silently and without the traditional brushing motion, which can make the experience much easier for dogs who may be nervous or sensitive around their mouth.
Each dog has their own individual toothbrush head, which is kept at the shop specifically for them.
New Emmi Pet customers begin with an initial programme before moving onto regular maintenance appointments, helping keep on top of their dog’s teeth on an ongoing basis.

Initial Consultation
£45
This includes your dog’s own Emmi Pet NEO toothbrush head.
A £10 deposit is required when booking the initial consultation.
This secures your appointment and covers the cost of your dog’s individual toothbrush head.
The £10 is deducted from the £45 consultation price, meaning the remaining £35 is payable at the consultation.
STARTER PLAN
Initial 10 Session Programme
£250 TOTAL
New Emmi Pet customers will need to complete an initial 10 session programme within 8 weeks.
The £250 total includes:
✅ Your initial consultation
✅ Your dog’s own NEO toothbrush head
✅ All 10 sessions
So you do not pay £45 plus another £250.
Any money already paid towards the consultation, including the £10 deposit, forms part of the £250 total.
The aim of the initial programme is to get the teeth to a suitable level so that afterwards we’re simply maintaining the results rather than having to tackle larger amounts of build up again.
MAINTENANCE FEES
Once the initial programme is complete, we will move your happier and healthier dogs onto the following maintenance appointments.
Please note:
Emmi Pet ultrasonic teeth cleaning is suitable for maintaining oral hygiene and helping with plaque and tartar in the earlier stages of dental build-up (Stages 1–2).
It is not a substitute for veterinary dental treatment. Dogs showing signs of advanced dental or periodontal disease (Stages 3–4), pain, infection, loose teeth or significant gum problems will be referred to a veterinary professional for assessment and treatment under anaesthetic at the vets.
If more than 8 weeks has passed since your dog's last appointment, additional cleaning maybe be required, and an extra charge may apply depending on level of build up.

Our most frequent maintenance option
Ideal for dogs that benefit from regular cleaning. Weekly sessions help keep on top of plaque build-up and maintain good dental hygiene as consistently as possible.
EVERY TWO WEEKS+
£20/per session
Our most popular and recommended option for ongoing maintenance.
Fortnightly sessions offer a great balance between regular cleaning and affordability, helping to prevent plaque from becoming more established between appointments.
EVERY FOUR WEEKS+
£24/per session
A good maintenance option for dogs whose teeth are already in good condition.
Monthly appointments help maintain results while providing regular support for your dog’s dental health.
EVERY SIX WEEKS+
£27/per session
Suitable for dogs with good oral health and minimal plaque build-up.
However, it is not recommended, as longer gaps can allow more plaque to develop between sessions.
More frequent appointments where possible would be advised.
